About Dholera Village

Dholera is a small village located in the Ahmadabad Bhavnagar highway.  Dholera village is in Ahmadabad district in Gujarat state, India. Dholera is a port in ancient times. It is located in the Gulf of Khambhat. Dholera village is known for the original temple of Lord Swaminarayan. In 2009 the government of Gujarat declared Dholera as a special investment region. Dholera Project is the Government's very ambitious project. Dholera Smart City is the first type of project in India. Dholera Sir includes 22 villages and a total area of Dholera smart city is 920 SQ KM. It is rightly said, “new Gujarat within Gujarat”. Dholera sir is a first smart city in India. The Dholera model is to be made from Shanghai. The place of Dholera Smart City is strategically between the major industrial centers of Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar. The main objective of the Dholera project is to become an economically and socially balanced city including all the infrastructure, Drainage system, highways, clinics, schools, hospitals, and employment.
